The issue occurs on the entire mainline 6.4.x kernel series and also the 6.4.3 stable and 6.5 RC1 kernel, which are the latest at the time of writing. I no longer have any devices that are not recognized. Once the PC had rebooted I checked the Device Manager. After reboot the installer continued and installed the driver. The Realtek installer first uninstalled the existing driver and required a reboot. I downloaded the file "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver for Intel® NUC Kits, Version: 6., Date: " and unzipped the file to a directory and ran the setup file. I tried the link again today for the audio driver and now it works
